Sean Connery (1930-2020) was the first actor to portray James Bond in the EON produced 007 films, and the Scot has been living the Bond Lifestyle ever since, from taking residence in the Bahamas and playing golf wearing his Slazenger sweater to driving a fast BMW. Famed for the playing card suits stamped on the golf balls, a Penfold ball became the most famous golfing ball in cinematic history when used in the 1964 Bond film Goldfinger. James Bond (Sean Connery) played a Penfold Heart golf ball when defeating Auric Goldfinger in a golf match against the Bond villain.

The James Bond films Goldfinger (1964) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), were filmed in and around the Clubhouse and on the championship golf course, Stoke Park at Stoke Poges.
The famous golf match between Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and James Bond (Sean Connery) were filmed on this course and in front of the main club building.
